Steve Bruce’s side then welcome Sky Bet League One champions Wigan to Villa Park on August 11 as they look to move on from the disappointment of May’s play-off final defeat to Fulham.

The first Second City derby of the season sees Villa host Birmingham City on November 24, while they travel to St Andrew’s on March 9.

Boxing Day sees Villa face Swansea City away, while they take on Queens Park Rangers at Villa Park on New Year’s Day.

Villa face West Brom away on December 8 and at home on February 16, while their final match of the season is at home to Norwich City on May 5.
