They’re the two most magical words in all of sports: Game 3.
The Arkansas Razorbacks took a gut punch in last night’s defeat to the Oregon State Beavers, as closer Matt Cronin gave up three runs with two outs in the ninth, en route to a 5-3 OSU victory. Minnesota Twins first-round pick Trevor Larnach did most of that damage, depositing a two-run bomb into the right field bullpen.
Brandon Eisert pitched effectively in relief, striking out seven in five innings and giving up two runs, before he was relieved by Kevin Abel and Jake Mulholland, who sealed the Beavers’ victory in the ninth.

Tonight, the Razorbacks have the opportunity to end decades of suffering and waiting for a national title, following so many empty trips to Omaha.
Oregon State is searching for its first national championship since 2007, which would be its third under coach Pat Casey. The Beavers have played with their backs against the wall for the majority of the tournament — Game 2 as no exception — and they hope the magic continues for one more night.
