Play has still not started. It is now close to half an hour from the rescheduled start time, and still no signs of players coming out. What on earth is going on?
Whilst the game is delayed and the chat continues between the Match referee and the SL team, the sun that was hardly seen yesterday and not expected to be seen today, is actually shining brightly.

Well, there is something serious going on here. Play should have started by now but the Sri Lankan players are refusing to come out. Dinesh Chandimal and the rest are not happy about something. There are plenty of animated conversations going on over there. This isn’t looking good.
Only 42.3 overs were possible yesterday with the Windies steadily crawling to 118 for 2, still trailing by 135 runs. It is bright and sunny now but the forecast isn’t great again. For now, Windies will be happy with this position that they are in right now. There is plenty of time in this Test match and the hosts will in no hurry anyway having taken a 1-0 lead already in the series.
All is not lost for Sri Lanka as well in this Test. The pitch is good for batting but every now and then, it has shown signs of aiding the seamers. Lahiru Kumara had an excellent day but had only one wicket to show for. Sri Lanka will be hoping that the luck changes today. Welcome to the live blog for the third day’s play of the second Test. Hopefully, the early start makes up for some lost time.
