Ian Kinsler is heading to Boston.

The Red Sox acquired the 36-year-old infielder from the Angels, the teams announced Monday. Los Angeles received minor league pitchers Williams Jerez and Ty Buttrey in the deal.

Kinsler has registered a .239/.304/.406 slash line for the Angels this season. He has also hit 13 home runs and tallied 32 RBIs.

Kinsler, a four-time All-Star, spent his first eight MLB seasons with the Rangers. He has also played for the Tigers during his 13-year MLB career.

The Red Sox finished play Monday with an MLB best 75-33 record.
