Adam Jones is expected to play out the final year of his contract in Baltimore.
The Orioles center fielder has indicated that he won’t waive his 10-and-5 rights to accept a trade, Roch Kubatko of MASN reported.
According to the report, however, the decision is still under discussion.
Jones has fallen well below his average totals this season, slashing .285/.312/.434 with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. Still, that hasn’t stopped the Phillies and Indians from looking at the five-time All-Star.
Jones, 32, began his career with the Mariners but has spent the last 11 seasons with the Orioles. He ranks fifth in franchise history in both hits and home runs as well as 10th in games played.
The Orioles (32-74) have the worst record in MLB and sit in last place in the American League East.
