Foles was injured during the second quarter of Thursday’s game when Patriots defensive end Adrian Clayborn beat Eagles lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai around Foles’ blind side and hit Foles as he was throwing. The ball was knocked loose, allowing Patriots linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley to scoop and score while Foles immediately clutched his arm and winced in pain.

Foles was escorted by the training staff to a medical tent on the sideline for examination and was diagnosed with the strained shoulder. He didn’t return to the game.

Pederson also confirmed that quarterback Carson Wentz has been cleared to resume 11-on-11 drills, and will split reps between the two quarterbacks.

The Eagles will play the Browns in Cleveland on Thursday in Week 3 of the preseason.
