Shohei Ohtani's pinch-hit home run leads Angels past Dodgers

Angels slugger Shohei Ohtani is back hitting and he made his presence felt Sunday with a late, go-ahead pinch-hit home run to lead the Angels to a 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Ohtani, who is now batting .275 this season, hit his seventh home run. He was cleared to hit earlier this week after suffering an elbow injury, but has not yet been cleared to pitch.

The Japanese sensation has been even better than advertised this season, and he helped get the Angels (46-45) back above .500 for the season.

Andrew Heaney started the game for the Angels, and he allowed just three runs with 10 strikeouts in seven innings. Albert Pujols also connected on his 13th home run of the year.

But it was Ohtani sent in to save the day, and he appears well on his way to accomplishing most of the lofty goals he made for himself in high school.
