The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) will wait for the Supreme Court’s July 4 hearing on implementing Lodha Committee’s recommendations before taking a call on the dates for the Annual General Meeting (AGM). “We will have to abide by the court’s ruling.
A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court had adjourned the BCCI hearing on the Lodha Committee reforms last month. Only after the ruling, can we take a call on dates for holding the AGM or any other major decision. For now, we don’t have a choice but to adopt the wait and watch approach,” said a TNCA official, after the conclusion of the executive committee (EC) meeting here on Tuesday.
The official hopes that next month’s verdict will help TNCA function as a normal association. “We didn’t have the AGM last year. It is important that the ruling comes through,” he added. During the one-and-half-hour-long meeting, it was decided that the opening ceremony and match of the third edition of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) will be held in Tirunelveli while the final will be held in Chennai on August 12.
