Warriors vs. Rockets: Score, updates, highlights from Game 7 of West finals

The Rockets and Warriors are ready to fight for the right to play in the NBA Finals, but they won’t be at full strength for Monday night’s Game 7 matchup.

Chris Paul has been ruled out despite Houston’s best efforts to get the star point guard back in the starting lineup. Paul suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the same injury that kept James Harden off the floor for multiple weeks back in January. The Rockets will have to find a way to replace his 21.1 points and 5.8 assists per game in these playoffs. Look for Harden and Eric Gordon to be aggressive on the offensive end.

The Warriors will be without 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, who is missing his fourth straight game with a leg contusion. Iguodala had been averaging 7.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in the postseason prior to his injury. He is an important “glue guy” for Golden State, but Steve Kerr still has Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green at full strength. It’s no surprise to see the Warriors are favored to advance despite being on the road.

Game 7 box score

9:13 p.m. ET — Wow. Klay Thompson picks up his third foul contesting a James Harden 3-pointer, and Harden makes it anyway. Thompson must walk over to the bench. It’s understandable that he was still on the floor, but that’s the risk.

9:07 p.m. ET — James Harden and Eric Gordon each draw fouls on Klay Thompson in the opening minute of the game, but Thompson will stay on the floor with two. Steve Kerr isn’t messing around with the season on the line.

9:00 p.m. ET — Here we go. Your starting lineups for Game 7…

Warriors: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney

Rockets: James Harden, Eric Gordon, Trevor Ariza, PJ Tucker, Clint Capela

8:45 p.m. ET — Game 7 could come down to how much James Harden has left in the tank. He must play like an MVP if the Rockets want to take down this Warriors team.

8:30 p.m. ET — Stephen Curry is coming off a 29-point effort in Game 6. How will he handle yet another elimination game?
